Dear reader,

Over the next 40 days, I’ll be sharing with you a very personal journey. It’s a story told through my lens, my dialect, a reflection of my heart and soul. This journey is inspired by a powerful verse from the Bible, Romans 8:32, which reads, “He who did not spare His own Son, but delivered Him up for us all, how shall He not with Him also freely give us all things?”

As I ponder this verse, I’m struck by a profound question: If God is for us, who can be against us? This question isn’t just about confronting external adversaries; it’s about battling the internal doubts and fears that often cloud our faith and judgement.

Each day, I will write a letter to Jesus, reflecting on this verse and its meaning in my life. The journey will culminate on May 24, 2024, but every day until then is a step towards understanding and internalizing this profound truth.

### Today’s Reflection: Is Anything Really Against Us?

In my dialect, the way I speak from the heart, I often think about how things around us seem to be against us. The news, the struggles, the daily grind — it can all feel like a weight. But then, I read Romans 8:32, and it’s like a light in that darkness.

“How shall He not with Him also freely give us all things?” These words, they speak of a promise, a reassurance that in Jesus, we have an ally stronger than any adversary we might face. It makes me wonder, are these challenges really against us? Or are they just part of a bigger plan, a plan that we might not fully understand yet, but is meant for our good?

### Distracting Ourselves from Negativity

Part of this 40-day journey is also about finding ways to distract ourselves from negativity, the kind that doesn’t serve us. It’s about filling our minds and hearts with positivity, with faith, with the assurance that comes from this verse. Every day, as I write to Jesus, I’ll be exploring different ways to do just that, sharing my thoughts and experiences with you.

I invite you to join me on this journey, to reflect on this verse and what it means in your life. Let’s explore together how, even in the midst of trials, we can find strength and hope in the promise that God is always for us, never against us.

Till tomorrow,

Jamie
