Day 2 of Walking with Jesus: Finding Purpose Amidst Confusion
As I continue my 40-day journey of writing and reflecting on my walk with Jesus, I delve into the complexities of my past and present. For six years, I lived in cramped quarters, a consequence of my aunt’s unstable lifestyle. This chapter of my life, among other challenges, left deep scars — both physical and emotional.
The Struggle with Purpose
Each day, I grapple with the scars of my past, including those of deformities, and I often find myself questioning my purpose. “What am I here for? What am I supposed to do?” These questions echo in my mind, only to be met with a divine whisper telling me to “wait.” In this waiting, I search for specks of joy — in music, in the mundane routines of daily life. There’s a certain peace in acknowledging the repetitive nature of existence, yet it’s a peace that often feels like a paradox.
Holding the $Jesus Coin
In this digital age, I’ve come across something intriguing — the $Jesus coin. It’s a symbol that seems to merge faith with the modern world. I hold this coin, not just in a literal sense, but as a metaphor for holding onto faith in a world that’s constantly evolving. The leader of this coin, a figure in the crypto realm, doesn’t inspire my trust. Yet, the true overseer, Jesus Himself, offers a different kind of assurance.
A Poem: The Confusion of the Second Day
In the silence of my room, I hold a coin of faith,
A symbol, a reminder, in the digital space.
A leader unknown, trust not easily given,
But the true overseer, in the heavens, is risen.
This second day of walking, talking with the Lord,
Brings a mix of emotions, feelings hard to record.
Confusion swirls around me, like a relentless storm,
Yet in this chaos, a hope begins to form.
The scars of the past, they mark me still,
Reminders of trials, of life’s bitter pill.
Yet, in these wounds, a story is told,
Of resilience, of courage, of a spirit bold.
As I ponder my purpose, the path unclear,
I find solace in faith, in Jesus ever near.
Though the journey is rugged, the road unkind,
In His presence, a peace I somehow find.
So I hold onto this coin, a token of grace,
A reminder that in His love, I have a place.
Though the leader of man may falter and fail,
In Jesus, the overseer, my faith shall prevail.
Reflection
Today’s reflection leaves me with more questions than answers. The path of faith is not always straightforward; it’s often riddled with confusion and doubt. Yet, in this uncertainty, there’s a strange kind of clarity — the understanding that Jesus is with me, even when the way forward is shrouded in mystery. As I continue this walk, I aim to embrace the confusion, knowing that in every step, Jesus is there, guiding and comforting me through the unknown.
